About PlayAdvice
An independent magazine for people who play games and people who make them.
PlayAdvice covers what is new in games: fresh releases, games on the way, the events where the industry shows its hand, and the business that decides what gets made. We write for players who want to know what deserves their evenings, and for developers who want to know what is happening around them.
What we cover
- New Releases: Games that just launched: what they are, who made them and whether they deserve your time.
- Upcoming: Announced games, release dates, trailers, demos and betas worth keeping an eye on.
- Events: Showcases, festivals, conventions, awards and esports: the moments the games world gathers around.
- Industry: Studios, publishers, platforms, stores and the business behind the games you play.
- Reviews: Review roundups: what critics and players say about the latest releases, with every score sourced.
How we work
Every story is written by the PlayAdvice Editorial desk from public, checkable sources: official store pages, developer and publisher announcements, platform blogs and established gaming press. Every article ends with the list of sources we used, so you can check us. Our opinion lives in a clearly marked section called Our take.
Review roundups summarize what critics and players have published, with every score attributed to its outlet. We do not invent scores and we do not pretend to have played a game when we have not.
For developers
Indie and small studios can order a dedicated story about their game. These stories are always labeled Sponsored and follow the same facts rules as everything else. See packages and how it works.
FAQ
- Can I pay for a better score?
- No. We do not sell scores, rankings or editorial opinions. Sponsored stories describe a game; they are not reviews.
- I found a mistake. What now?
- Write to us through the contact page. We fix factual errors quickly and note the correction at the end of the article.
- Can I send you news or a press release?
- Yes, through the contact page. We read everything, but we only publish what we can verify.
